We received the E-mail from the "London International Mime Festival."
where they explained us the translation of the "Puky Star" - title of
our performance in English: ******************************************************************************
Yes, we received the cd roms from you. It looks very interesting
- the
next stage for us would be to come and see a live performance
somewhere - can you send us a list of places you will play in
the next
few months, especially festivals. Just a word of warning about the show
title - 'Puky' in English means 'vomity' so you might want to think of
another name for the show outside Russia as it may not be quite the
positive image you would like!****
Best wishes
Helen
******************************************************************************
We would like to say a lot of thanks to Helen for telling us about
her warning about the title of our performance.
We never thought that it sound so terrible in English.
In our performance we combining poetic poignancy of traditional clowning, a visual beauty and philosophical mime art, to make very lirical, beautifully crafted stunning comic spectacle.
So
we decided to replace the "Puky Star" name of our show
with the "Starry Story"?
In Russian it sounds same and mean "The old story". Of
course it means not same things, but in our performance we telling
the story, close concerning the "Very Starry" firmament
of actors from the
past, like Chaplin, Fred Aster, ...
That's
why we think that this name will define our
performance exactly.
So,
now our performance will get new name - "Starry Story".
And
many thanks again to Helen Lannaghan from "London International Mime Festival." |
